Developing Musical Context

Specialist instrumental teachers demonstrate detailed knowledge of the instrument they play.

This affords schools and students a great opportunity to learn about the historical context of instruments and repertoire. A holistic approach to teaching was advocated in "A Common Approach" 2002 and should be part of a rounded musical education.
