Suzuki Method in Schools
...
This teacher has 35 years’ experience using the 'Suzuki' method and is also a teacher trainer. She discusses her work in schools, the role of the parent and the motivational aspects of group learning. There are large amounts of transferable pedagogy as she comments on the opportunities for social cohesion and self-confidence provided by the workshops, concerts, courses, assemblies. By the use of review pieces students are able to develop technical and musical skills by building on what they can already `do`. The `vertical` grouping in this more advanced larger group provides role models within the group.
